THE BIRTH OF DANKX
It all started with a kid who grew up living in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.
Hockey is the heart and soul of Canada and Dan Kohanchuk was no stranger to wearing a jockstrap as it was an essential piece of equipment that was needed as he spent his entire youth and adult years playing the sport.
The sad reality for every hockey player is that for a sport you dedicate your whole life to, the memorable days of lacing up the skates and setting foot on the ice everyday eventually cames to an end and retirement sets in. Some of the guys he played hockey with stay connected with their sport of choice in one way or another by becoming hockey coaches, personal trainers, scouts, hockey equipment sales reps, management etc… Some guys completely gave it up all together and focused on finding a regular 9-5 job or started their own business where they can be their own boss. Dan K. ended up doing both. Starting off by grinding through workdays at the airport loading planes and sorting luggage in the bag room by placing the luggage on the appropriate baggage carts for the intended destination. The bag room felt more like being in prison and the feelings of being underpaid and understaffed kicked in quickly.
Left all alone in the bag room to sort the baggage for the entire morning rush was an absolute nightmare as the bags kept flying down the conveyor belt where constant bag jams would occur because he couldn’t keep up. Giving Dan K’s hockey background he came up with the genius idea to lace up a pair of rollerblades for his next shift to see if it would help make things easier on his end to keep up with the pace of bags that were shooting down the conveyor belt. It didn’t take long for everyone to catch the attention of 1 guy in the bag room flying around on his roller blades sorting the entire morning baggage carts, killi’n it, on his on own WITH NO BAG JAMS. This also quickly caught the attention of ATS management and airport security when they noticed a guy on the security camera’s in the bag room flying around on his roller blades. The genius idea of Dan K. was quickly shut down by ATS management and airport security then was forced to revert back to wearing only steel toe work boots is the bag room. The feeling of being understaffed and underpaid quickly set in again when he was forced to put his work boots back on.

At the same time Dan was working at the airport he started up a window tinting company that he was continuously dedicating himself to, in order to break free from the life of having to work for someone else. Having bigger goals in mind, he envisioned a transition into the life of becoming his own boss where he can make his own set of rules to obey by. Eventually, his constant dedication to becoming a successful entrepreneur paid off and he was finally able build up a large enough customer base with his window tinting company and was finally able to quit his job at the airport to focus on the new chapter in life of being his own boss.
After several years of achieving great success with his window tinting company he was inspired to diversify his passion for entrepreneurship. Constantly envisioning new ideas for things that he not only needed for himself but also for people all around the globe would need or want for themselves as well. Even though Dan is retired from playing hockey, he still found it essential to live an active lifestyle by dedicating alot of his time in the gym to stay fit and healthy. He didn’t want to end up completely losing his athletic build from playing hockey all these years. Hockey players, retired or not, still want to look good when they go out on the town wearing a pair of skinny jeans with their oversized hockey butts and big thighs expanding the fabric of their jeans to the fullest potential.

Every guy can relate to the annoying underwear ride up and the feeling of just being uncomfortable when you’re just trying to look good in a pair of skinny jeans or pump out a few reps of squats in the gym without having to reach into your pants to pull down the annoying ride up from your underwear.
While searching the internet to resolve this issue he discovered jockstrap underwear ” THAT’S WHAT I’M TALKIN ABOUT BABY “, was the first thing that ran through his mind. Obviously, ordered a few pairs off the internet to test out and when they finally arrived….The feeling of his old hockey days set in. Instantly falling in love with the concept of being able to wear a jockstrap ON THE ICE & OFF THE ICE !
From this point, Dan contacted the Top-Rated Apparel manufacturers to give them his design ideas to create a jockstrap that was specifically designed to his specifications. Creative color combinations, wide / stylish waistbands, durable / flexible materials and most important of all… functional, everyday underwear for home, work, gym and play.
The next step was to think of a Brand Name that would set him apart from all other companies on the market. Something SEXY! From his own perspective this was the most important part to take into consideration.
DAN-K is short for Dan Kohanchuk and the letter “X” symbolizes MYSTERIOUS (which can be seen as very appealing and attractive), EXPLICIT and EXTRAORDINARY, which perfectly describes ALL of the DANKX apparel.
Let’s face it, anything with an X in it sounds SEXY and that’s exactly what we’re striving for here.
Love it or hate it, DANKX is coming in HOT.

INFLUENCED BY WORDS OF INSPIRATION
Running, you’re stuck on a leash.
Wanna see Spain and I wanna see Greece
Wanna see things I would never believe
I wanna wake up with a view of the Sea
I WANNA BELIEVE, I WANNA ACHIEVE
I wanna percieve everything I could be
perceiving is key, we are what we see
and lately I’ve been in this rut,
Now I wanna be free.
COMPLACENT AND BASIC IS HOW YOU WILL LOSE.

Inspiration sparks an emotional quickening. It uplifts, infuses us with hope, generates new ideas and gives us the sense of possibility and faith. Influence exerts a specific, directive force to provoke change on a sometimes daily or consistent basis. Influence makes things happen.
